Bay Area Hindu Democratic Coalition (BAHDC)

Why Do We Need the Bay Area Hindu Democratic Coalition?
The Bay Area Hindu Democratic Coalition (BAHDC) was founded to ensure Hindu American voices are heard and represented in the Democratic Party. While our community contributes significantly to California’s growth, we remain underrepresented in politics and policy discussions.
BAHDC empowers Hindu Democrats to engage in civic life, advocate for inclusive policies, and stand up against Hindu hate and all forms of discrimination. We work to build bridges between the Hindu American community and the Democratic Party — promoting mutual understanding and collaboration.
We believe in Democratic values like equality, justice, and diversity. Our coalition gives Hindu Americans a platform to participate, lead, and shape a future where all communities are respected and represented.
Now is the time to organize, educate, and engage. Join us in making democracy stronger and more inclusive.
Purpose
The Objectives for the BAHDC are as follows:
-
To promote the Democratic ideals by encouraging active interest in the Democratic Party, supporting the party’s platform, contributing to political leadership, and providing a constructive role for volunteers in Democratic politics.
-
To advocate for the election and support of the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates to the Hindu and Indian community.
-
To actively work against Hindu hate and all other forms of hate, and to be a resource in the Democratic Party and larger Hindu community.
-
Encourage and provide education for politicians and community representatives to facilitate a better understanding of Hindu hate and increase tolerance and connection within the broader Democratic community.
